Resin Demo Pieces for the Workshop

Since my last resin workshop, I've been running it over my head... rethinking and developing it more...rearranging, subtracting and adding  different concepts and demos...

I have been working on casting heart charms such as these which I plan to demo on my next workshop...

they're quite lovely...and would look great as pendants or bracelet charms or even magnets...

Then i also have the glitter hearts....which are ohhh sooo pretty!!!

and colors of the rainbow.....
So, i think the workshop attendees would love to learn these techniques...don't you?

I am quite excited for the next workshop...April 20th...i have 2 students already and I know they're going to be as addicted to creating with resin as i am...

Welcome To Bead Soup Party Sept 2011

Welcome to the September 2011 Bead Soup Party

What is a bead soup party anyway? Well, Lori of Pretty Things Blog organized this great event. We signed up and we were paired up. Each pair sends the other a focal bead, a pretty clasp and matching beads. And then that's when we start creating.

Today is reveal day! Join us in this party by stopping by the blogs listed below. Do leave a comment! I'd love to meet you and hear from you! Enjoy...

My bead soup partner is Noemi Baena of Creaciones Noemi Baena Blog. She is from Spain and makes beautiful sterling silver jewelry (check out her etsy shop - here).  Here are the indgredients for the bead soup she sent...

And now for the big reveal...
I made several things from my soup...first a necklace with the focal bead...
I mixed different shape beads..a square focal..a circular brass component.. an elongated oval clay bead with flowers that I hand made...and a dangling heart charm...I love the colors and I really love how it looks when its worn...

Next, for the clasp...I made another necklace. The pendant is one of my own creations out of polymer clay...
Sweet! I also used the pretty heart crystals, sterling silver beads and violet swarovski crystals that were part of the matching beads sent to me.

There were a lot of pretty matching beads left over, so I created this....
a charm necklace with my own polymer clay pendant. The swarovskis definitely makes this one look extra classy!

Finally, my favorite one..a charm bracelet with a polymer clay centerpiece.

One of my most favorite things to make are charm bracelets...and i think this one I truly love!

I still have a few more beads left over and I'm planning something special for those too! Thanks so much Noemi! And super thanks to Lori! Great Job on another amazing blog party! I'm off to visit the others. Oh and if you're interested to join the next one...find out more

Here's the bead soup I sent my partner...

My Beautiful Heart (A Handcrafted Necklace)

I know I should be working on a lot of things at the moment...however, I don't know what it is but, something's got me down... So, instead of creating, I sat down and started surfing. One of the places I love to visit to find inspiration is the site Polyvore.

People make so many lovely collections and combinations of outifts that it always pushes my creative button. As I was looking today, I saw a lovely collection and it totally made me think of a neck piece that I created last week that I love... I call it...
My Beautiful Heart

Here is the collection -
 Untitled #87

Oh isn't it just lovely together? Now I don't know how to add my necklace into the picture in Polyvore but, I gave it a try in Photoshop and I love i! The beauty of this necklace is that its so versatile that it can match so many different colors of outfits... you can go pink or purple or blue or brown or white or black....

Hm, now I'm considering keeping the necklace for myself. It's supposed to be one of my items for sale in a bazaar I joined this November called Global Pinoy. It features 100% Filipino products. Its on November 5-6 at the Rockwell Tent in Makati City. If you happen to be in the area, you will definitely not want to miss this!!!

Well, its time for me to get back to work. So much to do!!! See you all on Saturday for the Bead Soup Party by the way!

That's all for now! Have a great day!

My Bead Soup Partner Got the Package Reveal

I was so happy to get a message from my bead partner Noemi that she got the bead soup I sent her. I can finally post what I sent here on my website. I sent out the beads on August 18th and it finally arrived in Spain September 5th. The Bead Soup Party is on September 17th, so I hope that gives Noemi enough time to create.

Here are the ingredients for the bead soup that I sent...

I noticed that my partner uses a lot of silver in her jewelry..so I decided to give something a little different. I decided on a "Vintage Garden Theme" with a mixture of gold, purples, mauves and greens.

We had to send 1- a Focal .... I created this pendant with heart filigree and I sculpted little polymer clay flowers...

We also had to send a special clasp. So I made a one of a kind toggle clasp using polymer clay too!

This is how you close the clasp.

I really liked how they turned out..and was dreading parting with them. But, I knew they were going to a wonderful Jewelry Designer in Spain.. so off in the mail they went.

I also sent a few coordinating beads..some mother of pearls, crystals and butterfly charms.

I'm so excited to see Noemi's finished piece. It's quite exciting to know that the art beads I created will be used by another jewelry designer.  And I really really enjoyed coming up with the bead soup. I'm thinking of making more soup ingredients and offering it for sale in my Etsy Bead Shop. It would be awesome to see what wonderful creations people come up with from a ready made kit of beads.

Thanks Lori...I'm already having so much fun. And I know any day now, my partner's soup will arrive...and it will be time for me to create too! Make sure to stop by here on September 17th for the Bead Soup Party!

That's all for now! Have a great day!
