Packing Orders and Time for Organizing

After a big sale, a lot of time is allotted to packing orders... I print out final invoices, layout all of the items and check them off from the list while i pack them...

Luckily, yesterday I have completed packing all orders. Most of them have already been sent and I am now just waiting for 2 more payments before I send off the last 2 packages to their respective locations. Now moving on to make next task...

I have tons of stocks sprawled out that are left over from the sale...

I'm gonna have to arrange them and pack them

And then I have re-stock them into the right albums online so that I can get them sold if somebody wants to buy them...a lot of them will still be on clearance.

This has been keeping me happily busy. But, on Monday, I need to start my new secret task that I need to get going but have not started. More about that to come....

Thankful for Everyday Tasks...

Today was spent doing common everyday tasks for the online shop...counting...

sorting...

packing...

labeling...

To some it may sound terribly mundane... but to me it is a joy.

When you love what you do...you enjoy even the simplest of tasks....  I love beads...I love craft making materials and touching them, re-arranging them ..even just looking at them sparks a kind of excitement and inspiration.

I wonder to myself what these beads and metal components will become...what kind of jewelry will it be part of ..who will be wearing it. Every little component can be part of something big in the hands of its creator! And i am forever thankful to my Creator that he has given me joy in all my everyday tasks....

Have fun creating!!!

Floral Cabochon Now Painted

I made this floral cabochon last week using a fleshy colored polymer clay....

And over the weekend, I painted it using acrylics and sealed it with 2 layers of resin varnish....
here's the finished piece

I like how it turned out...(even though the picture is terrible..really bad lighting)... I wanted to give it like a porcelain look...what do you think?
This will be going in the shop by the end of the week - earthlyjewels.webs.com

I've been pondering if I should open a second etsy store for the beads that I am making. I've heard different things about having 2 stores to take care of. I'm not really sure if I can handle two but, I don't think it would go nicely in my present etsy shop...hmmm.... i'll have to do more research on other people's experiences....

That's all for now...Have a great day!

Swirls & Vines Collection - Listed at my Web Store

I finally listed the latest polymer clay focals on my online shop! So, it's available now..if you want to take it home for yourself or for your own jewelry designs.

I decided not to do a shopping cart at the moment since that would take much longer to do. I'm still trying to figure out how paypal standard works. I do have an order form at the moment...and I plan to just send an invoice once an order is received.

I updated my website with some new buttons/pictures...you can see on the left side, the following "Shop for Handmade Beads" button. This leads you to my own online shop where I will have my handmade beads listed.

On the site I also made some "Category buttons" found on the Product Catalog Page

This one links to the Swirls & Vines Collection of handmade beads. A limited edition.

This one links to some really cute Glass Pendants. One piece only per design.

For the Jewelry store, I haven't listed anything yet but these are the pictures for the categories...

Charm Bracelets-

Charm Necklaces

I've worked on this the entire day, including the FAQs page and Order Form Page. Still have so much to work on but, that will have to do for today....

That's all for now...Have a good day!

My Love For Beads

I've had a love affair with beads for a  long long time now!

I actually have beads in my stash from back when I was in college and maybe even before then. I've thought about purging but before I can do that I would need to sort through them. I'm sure I'll get to that sometime this year as it is one of my new year's resolutions to have an organized craft room by year's end.

It's only March, however, so, that's still far from thought at the moment...what is floating around as an idea, though, is making my own beads. I've been hopping around a lot of blogs lately (mostly from the bead soup party) and I'm enamored by all those artisans that create their own beads. I'd love to learn how to do lampwork beads but, with no materials and tools available here, that is not possible for me...

So, looking at possibilities, I've come across several options...paper beads....paper mache beads (hand painted) and clay...

I think, right now, I've settled on clay. (This is the inspiration, too, from my last feature Friday) . I'm off this afternoon to procure some air dry clay at a local supplier.... still so much too learn, though... and I guess I'll have to do a search on the internet and read up on some techniques on how to handle clay.

Meanwhile, while working on my web store, I discovered, the free membership to webs.com only allows you to upload 5 items to the store (on their shopping cart mechanism thing-ee). So, I need to find another way to upload my products. I did find a site called Cashie that offers a free shopping cart and gateway to paypal. (I found this through paypal's site as one of their trusted partner solutions)

They provide a shopping cart, a check out and buttons which are quite simple to add to the website. However, I will have to create my own product pages and add the buttons for each item. At a quick glance, too, I have some questions regarding how they incorporate shipping charges to the order. I haven't tried it out yet, so I am holding off asking them about it.

Anyways, that's what I'm working on today.... busy, busy, busy...

Some of my bead supplies are already waiting to listed...since I took pictures and edited them yesterday....here are some of the glass pendants that I will be offering at my online store...

Cuties, aren't they? Watch out for them at my online shop....
