Happy Easter Everyone

I just wanted to drop in and greet everyone a Happy Easter. I need to get cracking on my pendants for the Soaking in the Summer Swap that I'm hosting. They have to be sent out by Friday...However, something new has been keeping me busy and I'd like to show you my Easter Surprise from hubby....

Meet my Charley....

He's my 11 week old golden retriever...and I love him! What a sweetheart! We got him yesterday...he slept straight through the night in his new crate without even whine or yelp...and he didn't even have an accident inside his crate...what a good boy!

Owl Bead Craze

Yesterday I spent the day making owls and owl molds (and a couple of other bead focals). Trying out a few designs for a line of owl beads.    Here's the loot...

These owls still have to go in the oven... 2 owl heads and a full body owl (who i really like and think i'll call Oliver)

Some owl molds.... and a heart molded from a vintage button (a thrift shop find)...Oliver was molded from the  one on the lower left....

Hand painted owlies...the pink one still needs highlights and maybe a glaze of gold...

and some other floral cabochons and bead molded from a button and a swirly focal pendant...

I'm putting the etsy shop on vacation starting tomorrow until Easter Sunday. I'll be preparing food and stuff for a beach outing on Thursday and Friday. It's the perfect weather for the beach and I can't wait. Hubby's been very busy lately with deadlines so, it will be awesome to spend some time with him relaxing by the shore. Pictures to come!

Floral Cabochon Now Painted

I made this floral cabochon last week using a fleshy colored polymer clay....

And over the weekend, I painted it using acrylics and sealed it with 2 layers of resin varnish....
here's the finished piece

I like how it turned out...(even though the picture is terrible..really bad lighting)... I wanted to give it like a porcelain look...what do you think?
This will be going in the shop by the end of the week - earthlyjewels.webs.com

I've been pondering if I should open a second etsy store for the beads that I am making. I've heard different things about having 2 stores to take care of. I'm not really sure if I can handle two but, I don't think it would go nicely in my present etsy shop...hmmm.... i'll have to do more research on other people's experiences....

That's all for now...Have a great day!

BTW ... Floral Cabochon

Here's the state of my Bead Table today (actually yesterday...but I was able to post it just today)...working with my polymer clay again. Making some floral cabochons....

I also have an ancient tree cabochon and a few "blank" ones, which I plan to paint on using acrylics. Still not enough for a batch in the oven so, the work is to be continued today.

Check out what everybody has on their table this Wednesday at the flickr group here....

That's all for now...Have a nice day!

Swirls & Vines Collection - Listed at my Web Store

I finally listed the latest polymer clay focals on my online shop! So, it's available now..if you want to take it home for yourself or for your own jewelry designs.

I decided not to do a shopping cart at the moment since that would take much longer to do. I'm still trying to figure out how paypal standard works. I do have an order form at the moment...and I plan to just send an invoice once an order is received.

I updated my website with some new buttons/pictures...you can see on the left side, the following "Shop for Handmade Beads" button. This leads you to my own online shop where I will have my handmade beads listed.

On the site I also made some "Category buttons" found on the Product Catalog Page

This one links to the Swirls & Vines Collection of handmade beads. A limited edition.

This one links to some really cute Glass Pendants. One piece only per design.

For the Jewelry store, I haven't listed anything yet but these are the pictures for the categories...

Charm Bracelets-

Charm Necklaces

I've worked on this the entire day, including the FAQs page and Order Form Page. Still have so much to work on but, that will have to do for today....

That's all for now...Have a good day!

Margie & Me: March Reveal

Today's the day of the March Margie & Me Reveal!!!! This month's inspiration stems from the color Yellow....and the piece given to us (by Marcie from La Bella Joya) for our inspiration is Van Gogh's The Sower with the Setting Sun

And for the big reveal, I introduce my piece...
"The Sower's Setting Sun"

I really liked working with the colors especially the deep violets which really reminded me of the sunset. I wire wrapped the flower pendant and hung it on a long chain. This one's going in the Etsy shop (click here tp go to the listing).

Thanks for another great challenge Ms Marcie! I always love your inspirations!

You can check out everyone's take on the challenge - here.

That's all for now...Have a great day!

Intricate Clay Beads

Check out my newest bead sets!!! I made them from Polymer clay and got the inspiration from Christi Friesen's Peppermint twist (tutorial). I'm really happy with how they came out....actually I made 5 different sets but I decided to keep a set for my very own....Here's the one I picked out for myself....

I have yet to give the collection a name.... I was thinking something about magical vines...or maybe dragons? Any good ideas out there?  I should have these bead sets up for sale at my own site (which I actually have not been working on lately)... Here's a closer look of each...
A green set...the small is a charm that has a hole on the top part...the bigger piece is a cabochon with a mother of pearl embedded in it.
Violet-pink mix..2 bead set a cabochon with a clear glass bead embedded and a cylindrical matching bead.
Copper and Turquoise set.... a focal bead with a hole on the top part and 2 turquoise beads embedded and a matching cylindrical bead.
And lastly, a Pink Gold 3 piece set....another favorite of mine. The focal has 2 holes on each end and a mustard colored mother of pearl embedded.

I so love how these came out and am tempted to keep all for myself.... I will definitely have to make more!!!

That's all for now...Have a great Friday!
