Art Bead February Inspiration - REVEAL 1

I finally finished the jewelry I was making from the Art Bead Scene February Inspiration. Since I didn't actually use art beads, I'm not eligible to submit it to the flickr goup...but never the less, I really liked the inspiration and decided to go ahead and make a piece of jewelry.

The inspiration art they featured was John Sargent's Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose...

And here's the color palette challenge -

So, I had chosen 2 color palettes but, so far I have just finished my first....here it is...

It's a convertible cluster/charm bracelet that doubles as a necklace. I included an extender type chain to be able to do this. You can find it listed in my ETSY shop - here.

Thanks for the fun challenge...I loved the colors. I do have another one to finish up...anyway, I still have 3 days left before February ends!

Tropical Hometown - Iron Craft #8

Iron Craft Challenge #8 was about our Hometown. I was born in the Philippine Islands and thought that I wanted to create something very tropical to remember the beautiful beaches here....

So, on this Iron Craft Wednesday, I created my necklace...

Island Tropics

I used beads that are well known to come from here...the mustard color and black discs are mother of pearls beads. The white cylinder beads are made of carabao bone (or it kind of feels like cartilage, maybe) and the triangular centerpiece is made of shell.

BTW...

I'm working on my iron craft challenge for this week....here's a peek at my work table...

In Search of You, Dear Customer...A treat for You!

I've had my Etsy shop for almost 5 months now. It's been fun setting up, creating items, taking tons and tons of pictures, listing....waiting...checking if somebody has decided to take home one of my items. I know and I've heard that it takes a while to get established and being that I just started this week to regularly upload and list new items, I still am awaiting my very first customer...which, in fact, is no fun at all....

I'm in search of you, dear customer!

I know you are out there...but, we have not yet crossed paths. You are the one to bring me hope and put excitement and fire back into my daily routine. I hope you stop by quite soon, because, along with me, my items are lonely! It is a difficult thing to be patient...and to just know that one day, you will stumble into my shop...fall in love with one of my creations and go home with a smile on your face, awaiting the day your package arrives in the mail.

But, lo and behold, you are in for a treat!!! As my very first patron, I offer you a  treat with a big heart felt thank you....by letting you select another one of my items as your very own....("Buy one item, choose another item for free!)  ***free item can be anything in the shop of equal or lesser value...just make a note in the note to seller, the name of the other item you would like to take home***

So, please, I ask you not to delay your arrival....always know that you are the one to make my day, never to be forgotten and always appreciated...as long as the days roll by!!!

And for your viewing pleasure...my newest Etsy listings.....

To Supply or Not Supply.....

I've been thinking of offering beading supplies online lately. In order to do this, though, I'd like to have my own website. It would be too much to open a supplies shop in etsy, I think. And it really would be better to have my own shop website. Of course, it would take a lot more work to set up and market...but once in place, at least I wouldn't have to pay listing fees and percentages of sales..so that's a big plus. I can list all the things I want...including supplies....

I'd be listing crystals, mother of pearl, glass beads, freshwater pearls, plastic and acrylic beads, charms, chains, ceramic beads, pendants findings...etc...etc...

Do you think the internet needs another bead supplier???  I'd have to put more thought in this.

As for now, I'm in full force listing at my etsy shop...these one were listed last night and today...

Charm Necklace with Pink Crystal Accents
(See the listing at my etsy shop here.)

I've been working on different backgrounds too...so here are some more views.....

How do they look? I have a lot of choices now! I haven't tried the mannequin photos, yet. But, I should so that people can get an idea of how it would look worn. I'd love to have model pictures too...ones where a pretty girl is wearing the necklaces...maybe I can figure out who I can get to model them...for now, these will do...

Here's another listing.....

Intricate Vintage Heart Filigree with Crystal and Pearl Accents

(See the listing at my etsy shop here.)

It shows a different background too! I love that aged marble. I found it at my mother's house and I love it!

Charm Necklace with Green Mother of Pearl Accents

Hopefully, loading up my shop will bring me my first sale!!! Fingers Crossed....

Now back to editing my other pictures...I still have about 10 more charm necklaces to list!!!!

An Attempt at Vintage..Charm Necklaces

I've fallen in love with that Vintage...Antique-y style jewelry lately. Luckily, I found a great local supplier for brass charms and I went crazy filling up my basket yesterday! Today, I spent the day putting together charm necklaces using antique gold chain and the very cute brass charms I aquired. Here are the few that I've taken pictures of. They can also be found listed on my Etsy shop...

Violet Stone Agate Cluster Necklace with Crystal and Mother of Pearl Bead Accents

That's just the tip of the iceberg. I plan to load the shop with a lot more of these types of necklaces and also maybe a few bracelets too in the next few days!

Stop by then! I'll be having a sale tomorrow for some of my older items! See you later!

Margie & Me: February Reveal

Here it is! The big reveal for Margie & Me's Jewelry challenge for February. This is my first time to participate and I find it quite exciting! I've seen a couple of others that have already posted their takes on the challenge and I find it absolutely awesome to see the all the different styles and types of jewelry that they have created according to the inspiration given.

Here's the inspiration I chose to create from...it is an image from JMDasso....

The beads I chose.....

And for the reveal...I introduce
"The Modern Madrid"

I used copper wire for the wire wrapping and for the beads some freshwater pearls, mother of pearl beads, and very sparkly Czech rondelles.

This necklace will be going in my Etsy shop (click here). You can find more pictures there!

Oh how I enjoyed doing this jewelry challenge! Many many thanks to Ms. Marcie from La Bella Joy..Thanks so much Ms. Marcie.......

A Happy Day (Plus Iron Craft #7 Midas Touch)

What a good day! First, I opened my mail this morning to find out that I won this bag from kellymoorebag.com. Yey!!! Happy Lucky Day!
Then I went through my pretty new beads and supplies that I purchased yesterday...

3 big bags of headpins in 3 tones..silver, antique gold and copper.
 8mm Mookait jasper beads.
2 triangular shell beads and a string of carabao cyclinder beads.
8mm Majorica pearls in assorted colors to restock my stash.
Red  glass with gold foil inside.
25 mm assorted cylindrical agate beads.

 2 meters pretty copper chain
Assorted antique gold & silver  findings, beads caps and black toned shell beads.

I love them and I got a burst of inspiration to create! Oh! Happy Bead Day!

And lastly, while putting new supplies away, I found some of my old bead leftovers. I thought of a new pendant line using crystals and antique chains that I had. Here are a few to feast your eyes on...

I love how they turned out. There can be tons of combinations which, can actually be great as accessories for wedding parties. Great gift ideas for the bridesmaids & flower girls.

Happy Constructive Day!

I just realized these would work well with my Iron Craft Challenge #7 - Midas Touch since they are all made of antique gold. So, lastly, here's my entry for this week's Iron Craft...

To sum it up....today was a good day!
